Chakhesang Shawl – The Chakhesangs, formerly known as Eastern Angami, is an amalgamation of three sub-tribes namely, Chokri, Kheza and Sangtam, represented respectively in the three syllables ‘Cha-Khe-Sang’
The use of unconventional materials such as nettle. Deccan jute, the bark of the DeBarge tree is unique to this tribe. The dyeing of shawls is also done through the use of natural material that is collected from the forest Yams such as acrylic, polyester, wool are used for making the products.
